Sloat Garden Center is a garden center in San Francisco, California. It is listed at 2700 Sloat Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94116, which places it among the local businesses of San Francisco that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In San Francisco, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in California, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 amโ€“6:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Sloat Garden Center at (415) 566-4415; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is sloatgardens.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 639 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded garden centers in San Francisco.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I love coming here for all my gardening needs, whether Iโ€™m looking for outdoor plants, seeds, fertilizer, or even something cute to gift someone. It can definitely be pricey, especially when it comes to their indoor plants, but I do think they carry really good-quality stuff. The service is also great, theyโ€™re usually always friendly, helpful, and happy to answer questions. I do wish they had a bigger selection of fruit trees, but maybe people just grab them before I get a chance to look, or the selection is limited because of our growing zone lol. I feel like most of their outdoor plants are pretty reasonably priced, but some of the extras, like planters and pots, can get expensive. Overall, itโ€™s still one of my favorite places to browse for plants and gardening supplies, and I usually end up finding something I want every time I go.

Sloat Garden Center is our favorite place to pick up everything we need for the garden! Itโ€™s the perfect spot for high-quality, local plants and expert advice. We grabbed tomato, bell pepper, and broccoli plantsโ€”plus a few other goodiesโ€”to get us ready for the season. Everything looked healthy and well cared for, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They also have a great selection of pots if your garden needs a little faceliftโ€”stylish options for every size and space. Whether youโ€™re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, this place has everything to get you growing!

There are SO MANY different kinds of plants here, and so many huge ones! It is actually like a jungle when you go inside. I am addicted to buying their self-watering planters, since they're a convenient size with a 4" potting area and a nice urn-shape that makes them easy to pick up. They come at a great price with lots of pretty colours. It's very intuitive to find the kinds of plants you want, and you can easily find new plants to love just by looking around. The staff are very helpful and always eager to answer questions. There's also all kinds of material for decoration and different growing styles. There's a whole shelf dedicated to terrariums. Another for seeds and bulbs. I like coming here for moss and stones too, and they have their own mixes of potting mix and soil organized by their usage.
